History repeats itself, but sometimes in a different way – A view on current Economic wobble

2:33 AM / Posted by hail mitesh / comments (0)

Once upon a time, foreigners under the banner of East India Company came to india , we were ignorant and poor then. They screw us for 200 years for that and left us low and dry, after forty years the foreigners again came, with the same motive ,in the name of globalization, but now we are screwing them, cause this time we are educated and poor. And also the East India Companies (MNCs) are not loyal to queen Victoria, they are loyal to Profit.
So now we have a situation, where companies screwing up their own country, it is not there fault . cause the country has got nothing to offer then there legacy, the future is not with them.
The time is now, for poor and educated. It is just for some stupid development , which the rich intended to use to exploit the poor turn towards them. One of them was in the field Transportation, which vanished the distance between countries and continent and between Raw material and factory. And the second was Information Technology – now there is no fear to being ignorant, Google will help me.
Economy is because we have companies, as army is because of soldiers. Now , we live in a world where soldiers don’t have any loyalty. What now soldiers do care is amount of there own strength. And for this , they don’t care to screw up there own country , or uplift some other country. Hence we see surge of companies called MNCs which in soldiers analogy can be termed as Mecenary – working in different country , guided by philosophy.
Economics is all about industrialization or what one say Manufacturing sector. And it is where transportation killed the developed. It made investors willing to search for cheap labor market, giving little or less regard to raw material availability. It is where, we poor got the edge, we were willing to work hard with little complaint. And also willing to work hard at any job, however monotonous it could be. It s because of this willingness , the service sector moved to country like India.
Now, the developed country has its legacy but no future to show, Globalization has ruined it. The recession is just a wobble, and a sign for major shift in macroeconomics of the world economy.

RULES FOR PROPER POLITICAL CONVERSATION

10:08 AM / Posted by hail mitesh / comments (0)

It is said men is a social animal, hence by virtue of which, it also makes men a political animal. Like a leader of a pride is the one with maximum hunting ability, similarly in humans too , the leader is define by his political ability , the ability which is manifested through his communication and the image he portrays.

I am a political nerdy creature i.e. a lion with ill-developed fangs, but it was through a conversation with a traveler, who was a well versed , politically astute and a proper delhite (political capital of India), through whom I was able to penned down these rules, which I suppose would be useful for fellows like me.

First rule: - Stay away from backbiting

This is not a rule, but a law, a holy law. That’s why it is first on the list. (If you think I might be kidding, check on this link, http://www.dianedew.com/gossip.htm)

Based on psychology too, backbiting is a mean and the most degraded way of venting ones anger and showing ones jealousy. Even indulging in it should be degraded.

Politically also, it portrays a person in negative light.

Even if you don’t follow any of the rules given below, please follow this one.

Second rule: - know what you want

"The difference between a leader and a follower is that leader knows what he wants."

Apart from food, drink and sex; men don’t know what they are looking for. This inherent trait in humanity is not only exploited by leaders (Hitler, Gandhi, Politicians) but also by Advertisement agency. Don’t you remember how many good-for-nothing gadgets and feel-good creams you have brought to get happiness or sense of pleasure?

Politics is all about filling people with wants and desire that indirectly satisfies your own ambition.

Third rule: - never show sides

Nothing is permanent except change: - Heraclitus

Open the news today and you will find Kalyan Singh – the man who demolished the Babri Masjid, has joined Samajwaadi Party – A Muslim Pro party. This is what should one be careful, nothing is permanent, so take no sides other then the side which satisfy your political ambition.

Also, being a neutral also make one politically well connected. You will have friends with both the warring parties and also you will be immune to change of power.

Fourth rule:-never argue

"People don’t change”:- Donald Trump

Osama says, “I am the change “. His first day in office, he ran into problems with the self interest groups, from pentagon to Federal Reserve, with all his election rhetoric come to a halt.

It is not that the system is resistant to change, but people do. Habits once formed are difficult to change, ideas and values we are conditioned with are difficult to change, and it is easy for a person to revert back to his old, tried and tested, habits then to change to new. Hence as a thumb rule, don’t try to change people accept as they are, the more you try to intrude into them, the more intolerable you will become to them.

It is not their habits, but also there a point of view too.

“The more argument you win, the less number of friends you will have” – Mitesh, 21st century philosopher and great thinker

Even if x says it is night and y says it is day, then accept it,…no don’t accept it….but GRACIOUSLY accept you. And try to earn some brownie point. Let the ignorant be happy in his ignorance.

Fifth rule:- Don’t give free advice

Nobody like being told to, nobody wants to be advised on what to do and what not to do. It is for this reason that all our holy scriptures from Quran to Bible to Gita to Ramayan , is written in poetic manner –they have either are poem or are stories, they never explicity state what needs to be done.

Even the pruvuchuns of Gurus like Osho gives his sermon through poems and stories .

So what purpose it serve to write holy scriptures through poems. Well the main point is , it allows the reader to interpret in his/her way the meaning he wants to derive. For example Holy Quran can be interpreted by Jehadis to Purprot their terrorist motive or used by Akbar to purport the concept of one god.

It is the most political good advise (may be it is an oxymoron now !), to say your judgement through poems or stories , rather then directly making the point .

Show them , don’t tell them

Sixth rule :- give orgasm to your listener not your ego…

No need to argue, No need to give advice…as it is proven the futility of these exercise ,…and the best stratergy is to give orgasm to your listener..by saying what they want to listen…if you are unable to do that then do passive listening…..that is what we are being taught in different schools and colleges all over india ( The Proffesors lectures were headfake learning, imbibing in us the virtue of mimicking how to listen)

seventh rule :- kill criticism there itself

Remember what Saudi king used to do, anyone saying anyting rubbish against him is tantamount to capital punishment…so remember to do it..in order to increase your

Well after that….it was good to get into conversation and knowing all this stuff….and here is my rule

FUCK OFF ! BE ORIGNAL…..There is no point of collecting brownie point through out the world when one is not true to oneself..

when there is no juice in life ?

Book and Movie Review ...my take

5:04 AM / Posted by hail mitesh / comments (2)

After watching numerous movies, reading numerous books and commenting on these ; I still do not have the ability to write a movie or book review.

Appreciating art is different for different people, and i agree critics do have a very analytical modus-operandi working when they savour art - dividing whole into parts and synthesizing the parts , criticizing the small element..... This modus operandi i have not developed, and i agree.

when i watch a movie or read a book , what i care is what i am getting from it. It is just , i do things for selfish purpose. For me non-fiction gives me more pleasure then a read of ullysses . It is just, i dont appreciate the motiff, hidden element , analogies ; which critics appreciates .

Movies i watch ,because of the depiction of reality(however fake it is) and the crisis of its character. I really like to be related to the character, to individual and savour his experience, may be i am vicarious , but it do make that moments a transcedental one-loosing touch with oneself. Simillarly , a character driven novel is what i love - fountain head, Atlas shrugged, Zorba the greek ....

After having such a transcedental experience , i did not have words to depict on the work of art. It is just asking a meditator to write about how he feels during meditation. For me , books and movies are spiritual experience.

Book and Movie Review...rubbish

My CAT Ordeal ( a story....)

9:45 AM / Posted by hail mitesh / comments (0)

EPILOGUE :- CAT score of 98.35 percentile . Maths 40 , English 50 and LR&DI 34 . No calls .(9 jan , 2009)

PROLOGUE :- Mitesh sitting in examination room, looking at one of the 50 students in the room giving a CAT mock paper. These 50 students like 2,34,000 students eying for a seat in the prestigious IIMs, which intake only 1000 students . And Mitesh thought " what the fuss is all about ".

Half an hour later, after the exam started , Mitesh walks off the room.

EPISODE 1 :- Money makes the world moves round

IIMs has come to be associated with high pay package or capitalist reason. Look at any newspaper in January (when placement season starts in IIM )- from high print economic times to low print punjab kesri , all talks about one crore packages of IIM grad. And for this reasons , we have , year after year, a high propotion of students , from engineering to arts , bright to dim , sitting for this exam , which for them will give them a sure way (as per the paper ) to mint money .

I ask myself , do it motivates me , just to do it for the sake of money .

well, for me , i thought was the thought. and this is the reason why i walked out of the room.

EPISODE 2 :- What Motivates me ?(July to first half of August)

Lazy people are not lazy , they just know that they can do it, and hence refused to do anything :- Mitesist saying

So the next two months , I did what i did best - Laze around, read books . I had in my mind that being management guru is just 10 books away , and in my heart to start a company and sell it when the next bull market come. What company , which company was irrelevant. What was important was how ? ( just how serial killer thinks -not whom or why but how to kill )

Being brought in a buissness family , i will not blame this instinct . Just one cant blame Rats for cutting away clothes . I had it in my genes . So I along with my other baniya friend (the name i cant reveal, just call him sachin ) discussed about the virtues of how buissness is better then 'Naukri' . How being pirate is better then a general in an army . On how it is better to die as ass-kicker then ass-licker , and also our grand dream of making our company public .

I think we were motivated enough .

EPISODE 3 :- What is management ?(July-Aug-Sept)

" The disorder of the universe is always increasing "- IIIrd law of thermodynamics

during my eclectic learning of management ( ten books away from being master ) , there was a series of sort epiphanies. Slowly and Slowly , I began to understand of what management is all about.

earlier there used to be small workshop , then they become factories , then series of factories , then we have corporation and now we have multi-national companies. Along the way size of a typical enterprise increased from 10 to 1,00,000 . And what management teach is how to tame this monster .

Management is not a gimmick of high salary , but it is a need of the hour . it may be 20-30 years or old but then the concept of corporation is only 80 years old (henry ford) .

Management may not produce a useful technical innovations, Managers may not be appreciated of anything they do ,but they are the need for the sustenance of human society.

We had managers in primitive human society (generals, garrisons..) , but there were no management schools . Which was same as we had engineers earlier ( hour glass , steam engines ) , but no engineering degree .

Though, it told me about indispensability of management as a discipline in human society, but it was not enough to dither me for pursuing an MBA degree.

EPISODE 4 - Depression week(2nd half of August)

" The Great Depression lasted from 1929 to 1937 " - class Xth ,NCERT History text book.

There are few things that one can do as an undergrad, and one of them is do nothing , a luxury that is lost as one ages.

On one faithful day , our dream company goes bankrupt (in future ) . The company which we had nutured , and had seen to have gone public. The day was when US declared bankruptcy.

I and Sachin decided to mourn for a week, and hence had a depression week. A period of deep introspection. A period when we change our positive view lens to negative view lens ( view for life) . We started looking at the darker side of life- Of our inability of choices, Of our wretched existence in IIT , On why we were born in the universe's most stupid planet , the planet's most poorest country , the country's most conservative state and the state's most narrow minded locality.

AND THAT WAS FUN.

well it was too much fun, and at that moment we parted way. And i decided to do management , partly because of complexity of management and partly because i was ranked 20,000 in one of the mock cat that i gave. this was an insult and a threat to my NARCISSM.

EPISODE 5 - Game Theory (SEPT 2009)

" Every Player tries to optimize its profit " - of what i was able to make out by reading 30 pages of John Nash thesis.

To prepare for CAT ,is a risky buissness. Considering the indian student , their intelligence and even more threatening their hard work. a single marks lost means a thousand students ahead of you. also we can not forget devine luck.

I thought of devising a good strategy, that even if i loose, i may have something to salvage. Something which will make it a risk worth taking.

"education is all about skill development , it is not rote learning ",is what reverberated in my head . A statement made by my class XI maths teacher ,criticizing coaching institute ,for loading students with lots of DPPs and Worksheets.

This is what i really wanted , and this is what is a win-win situation. I started my preparation based on sense of skill development.

The English required reading comprehension skills , read more
The Maths section required speed maths skills, vedic mathematics
LR sections required out of the box thinking , Solve puzzles..

well some or the other activity came along the way , and all was intended to skill development. It was same like GTA vice city , where the main protagonist wants to be don of the city , and for that he has to develop skills , which can only be done if he did some activities. I felt the same protagonist.

EPISODE 6 - MISSION INCOMPLETE(on 9th JAN)

"GAME OVER, PRESS START TO RETRY" - any atari console game

The results came, and i was bit dejected. The things i wanted to write is quite ubiquitous and used quite regularly(based on how ambitious you are) and i still want to write it - "if only #$#$^&$$#@@$$%%^&(masked ,no use to write , you wont be reading it).

In short , this year mission is incomplete, Next year a brand new inning.....
